Protect Queer Art

Protect Queer Art (2024) A political poster illustration discussing the ACLU Drag Defense Fund and its purpose of protecting the queer art of drag. As of 2023, there have been laws in states where artists who do drag have their rights restricted. This poster was created to show a greyed out drag queen, the only colorful parts of her body being her nails and makeup, as they’re what make her stand out. The type is also colorful and bold, to show the viewer that there is something truly beautiful in what conservatives may find odd or absurd.
